These instructions appy to the Windows version of SONAR.

If you cannot see VocALign Pro or VocALign Project in Sonar's Region FX Menu there are four things to check:

1) Have you downloaded the correct version of VocALign?

If you are running the 64 bit version of Sonar you will need to install the 64 bit, VST3 version for Windows of VocALign Project or VocALign Pro. Similarly if you are running the 32 bit version of Sonar you will need to install the 32 bit, VST3  version for Windows of VocAlign Project or VocALign Pro.

 To check which version of Sonar you are using, select Help->About in Sonar. At the bottom of the  window that appears  you will Sonar's version number. If its version number ends in "x64" then you are running the 64 bit version of Sonar. The image below shows the "About window"  from the 64bit version of Sonar Platinum.

2) Has SONAR registered VocALign as a new plug-in?

First, please make sure that you have either activated your computer with a licence for VocALign  or connected an iLok USB key that holds a licence for VocALign to your compter.

In some cases Sonar will not automatically scan its VST plug-ins as it starts. This means that Sonar may not recognize any recently installed plug-ins, such as VocALign Project or VocALign Pro. To force Sonar to search for new plug-ins:

In Sonar open the "Cakewalk Plug-in Manager" (select Utilities->Cakewalk Plug-in Manager").

Open the VST Configuration -> Options window

Make sure that one of the scan paths is set to 

c:Program filescommon filesvst3

Then select 

Re-scan failed plug-ins


Re-scan existing plug-ins

close the Scan Paths window and then select Scan VST Plug-ins

If VocALign is found an iLok authorisation window may be displayed. You must compete any instructions that are displayed.

Once Sonar has registered the VocALign plug-in successfully, you will be able to select it from the Region FX Menu.

3) Run as Administrator

You should not use Run as Administrator to start SONAR when scanning for new plug-ins.

4) Failed Plug-ins

If VocALign does not appear it is possible you have VST3 plug-in from another manufacture that is stopping SONAR scanning all the plug-ins. You may need to find the failing plug-in and remote it from the VST3 folders.
