How Vocal Takes Are Matched Perfectly – Revoice Pro Is The One, Says Morris Mingo
I started in audio production around 1991-92 when I played on my first ever live recording sessions. I started in church at the Morning Star Baptist Church in Cincinnati, Ohio. My uncle, the late, great organist Eugene Clendening was responsible for these early opportunities.
I'm worked on a few releases with various artists in 2014 including James Jackson & Atlanta Praise (Producing, Arranging, Keyboards and Mixing), Ryan Luckie (Producing, Arranging, Keyboards, Mixing and Mastering), Jodi Litmon (Producing, Arranging, Keyboards and Mixing) and Bishop Iva Durand (Producing, Arranging, Keyboards and Mixing).
Since using VocAlign in the early days of Pro Tools, I have always loved Synchro Arts. So it should come as no surprise that for vocals I use Revoice Pro. Having the ability to match takes makes it easier to align overdubs that are out of sync with their phrasing or feel with the original take. Alignment is the key thing that I look for when trying to keep the sound of a room for a live record and I often have to overdub the lead vocal for whatever reason. With this in mind, Revoice Pro makes it possible to salvage some very important elements of the live recording experience.

A lot of young people are mentored by me and i always like to give something back to the next generation of producers. My advice to them is be very precise and do all that you can to make sure that the music you do reaches people's hearts. Don't overthink a song. If it feels right, go with it no matter how minimalistic it may be. We as a whole need to do more to preserve the legacy of music while exploring new areas of technology. I think we have a duty to respect our foundations and carefully build on them.
