Revoice Pro uses a license that must be installed on an iLok USB Key.
If you received a Revoice PRO Activation Code it should look like this:
(where X's are numbers)
Note that this code is NOT a licence but an Activation Code that you must redeem in the iLok License Manager (available from iLok.com ) to obtain your licence.

Why is the Doubler output level about 1 db lower than the input signal?
We reduce the gain slightly to allow head room as we process the signals - part of the process creates a small gain. Reducing the overall gain by 1 db avoids any possibility of the signal clipping.
The stereo output double always seems a little left heavy?
This will depend on the exact settings, as of the purpose of the Doubler is to create different signals. We do not really create a stereo double pair but two output signals which can be used in the mix.
There are two things to check:
- You need to select the APT process which the Dub with the Protected Region is the input to. (You most easily select an APT process by clicking either the Dub Process Control Block or the Output.). It will become green and the process information panel at the right of the track should show something like "APT:2 Dub Energy".
- If it does NOT say “Energy”, then you need to open the APT control Panel for that process and select "Energy" in the "DISPLAY/EDIT" section.
When those two items are taken care of, you should be able to select the handles at the top of the Protected Region and drag them.
The start and end of the Guide and Dub Input Process Control Blocks define the range of the audio above the blocks that will be processed. If there is no audio above Dub Process Control Block, no audio is being input to the process.
You probably need to RIGHT CLICK in the track waveform area and select "Edit Audio" in the pop-up window. Then LEFT CLICK the waveform and it should turn green indicating it is selected. The process information panel at the right of the track should show something with the word “Audio”.
Sometimes there is a breath or other noise at the start of the Guide or Dub that is not in the other track. This can throw the timing of the processed signal's start and following sections out of alignment.
Try moving the start of the APT Process Control Blocks to start after the noise and around 0.25 to 0.5 seconds before the signal of interest starts for both Guide and Dub.
You probably have already installed a Revoice Pro TRIAL license in your iLok account. You cannot run a second trail license. Contact Synchro Arts only if you have NOT run a trial and get that message.
Ableton Live has a sample based gain control
Revoice Pro does not have a gain control for each audio file so when you tranfer audio from Live to Revoice the level may increase when you play the audio in Revoice Pro.
When you transfer the audio back to Live the gain may be set to 0dB. You may need to adjust the gain on the new audio in Live to avoid clipping.
To ensure files dragged from Revoice Pro are saved in the Digital Perfomer project open the DP Preference and Setting windows and set:
Always copy imported audio to project audio folder.
Revoice Pro needs to be able to spot aligned audio to a time code position.
It is not possible to spot audio to timecode in Final Cut Pro, you have to manually position the audio. This leads to a very slow work flow. So we do not recommend using Revoice with Final Cut Pro.
To remove Revoice Pro and its plug-ins from OS X you need to delete the following files
In the Applications folder delete Revoice Pro
To delete the plug-ins you need to delete the following files
How to use Revoice Pro 3 with Adobe Audition CC
Importing Audio to Revoice Pro 3 from Adobe Audition
1) First, run Revoice Pro.
2) In Adobe Audition, perfom a scan for plug-ins. To do this choose Effects->Audio Plug-in Manager and click the button 'Scan for Plug-ins'. You should see something similar to the image below.
3) Next you need to add the plug-in RevoiceProLink as a VST3 effect to the tracks that contain the audio that you want to transfer to Revoice Pro 3. In the example below we are using two tracks, named Guide and Dub.
4)The image below shows you how the RevoicePro Link plug-ins appear in Audition.
5) In each plug-in's window, use the drop-down menu (button) to choose the name of the destination track in Revoice Pro. In this example we have chosen to send the track "Dub" in Audition to track "RVP Dub" in Revoice Pro and the track "Guide" in Audition to the track "RVP Guide" in Revoice Pro.
6) Click on the Capture Enable switch under the label "Capture" to make it turn ON (shown in green below).
7) In Audition line up the playhead to the start of the audio you wish to transfer and start the playback. All the tracks that have been enabled for capture will begin transferring audio to Revoice Pro.
8) During playback, an indicator in the plug-in will display the current duration of the audio captured.
9) When Audition has played the audio to be captured, stop the playback. The captured audio will appear in the selected tracks in Revoice Pro.
Exporting Audio From Revoice Pro 3 to Adobe Audition
1) In Revoice Pro select the processed audio.
2) Hold down the SHIFT and ALT (Mac) / SHIFT and Ctrl (Windows) keys on the keyboard. (Do not press the mouse first or you might move the waveform.)
3) LEFT CLICK on the processed waveform and keep holding down the LEFT mouse key. The white (.wav) document symbol should appear next to the cursor.
4) You should now release the keyboard keys (for compatibility with some DAWs).
5) Keeping the LEFT mouse button held down, drag the document icon into a track in your DAW. Release the LEFT mouse button.
6) The waveform will go to a position near where you "dropped" it, but not necessarily to the correct start timecode. If that's the case, the next step will move it to the correct start timecode.
7) Use Adobe Audition to "Spot", or equivalent function (??) to snap the dragged audio to the correct embedded timecode. See below...
Unlike most other audio editors, Audition seems not to be able to move an audio clip to its embedded timecode once it has been added (or dragged) to a track. If you know a way of doing this efficiently please let us know.
It is however possible to import the processed audio at the correct timecode:
1) Follow steps 1 to 4 above.
2) Drag the processed file from Revoice Pro to a folder of your choice (e.g. the Desktop).
3) In Audition select the destination track.
4) Use Adobe Audition's Import function (choose File->Import->File) to import Revoice Pro's processed audio from the folder that you used in step 2) above.
5) This will add the file at the correct timecode as long as you have enabled the option "Use embedded timecode when inserting clips into Multitrack". See the Multitrack Clips section of Audition's preferences.
If the plug-ins installer fails to work on OS X 10.6.8 or earlier, go to the Extras folder and run Plug-Ins-Unsigned.
When using the Revoice Pro Link plug-ins in Pro Tools when you press Spot audio will apear in the timeline only if the USE IN PLAYLIST control is selected.
If USE IN PLAYLIST is not selected the audio is added to the clip bin but not added to the timeline.
If you use the Quick Doubler on a mono track to create a stereo Double and send the result to a stereo track may only get a mono output.
If you select an area in the output stereo track you will get a stereo output.
You may have to set multi-Input-mode before prcessing Spot.
The same issue will apply to other Revoice processes.
WARNING FOR PRO TOOLS 10 USERS. If you are capturing audio with Revoice Pro Link Plug-in do NOT use BAR BEATS setting in Pro Tools 10 and 10.1. There is a Pro Tools bug that will place the captured audio at the wrong time code in Revoice Pro. AVID state the fix is expected in Pro Tools 10.2.
The Revoice Pro Link plug-ins do not work with Samplitude.
When using Revoice Pro with Studio One, in the Studio One preference panel you should enable
Ask to copy external files when saving Song
This ensures any audio files dragged from Revoice Pro are saved in your Studio One project.
If you cannot drag and drop files from Revoice Pro into your DAW do the following:
1) Drag an audio file from Revoice to your desktop.
2) Try and drag the file from the desktop into your DAW.
If you cannot drag the file into your DAW it may because the DAW is being Run as administrator
You need to ether run your DAW as a normal user or run Revoice Pro as administrator.
Note that if your run Revoice as an Administrator it is not possible to drag and drop files from Windows Explorer into Revoice.
When starting Revoice Pro you may see the following message:
When you receive this message it typically means that the service (PACE License Services) has either quit unexpectedly, stopped running, did not install properly or never starts on system start up.
Try manually enabling the PACE License Services with the following steps:
1) Click the Start button and choose Control Panel
2) Choose either “Performance and Maintenance” (if viewing the Control Panel under Category View), double-click Administrative Tools (if viewing under Classic View) or if on Windows 8, System and Security
3) Choose Administrative Tools. If this has already been done under step 2, proceed to the next step
4) Double-click Services
5) Search for a service called “PACE License Services” and double-click it
6) Beside the “Startup type” section, make sure that Automatic is chosen from the pull down menu. If not, choose Automatic now
7) Click on the Start button of the PACE License Services Properties window
8) Click the OK button and close all the windows and reboot
9) Once logged back into Windows after reboot, return back to the PACE License Services Properties window and verify the PACE License Services is running and its settings remain as they were last changed
If the setting remained unchanged, try authorizing Revoice Pro 3. If there were any issues with any of the steps or the settings changed, try installing the License Support installer again but this time using “Run as administrator”. To do this, right-click the License Support installer and choose “Run as administrator” from the pop-up menu.

You may see the following error when trying to start Revoice Pro.
This error can occur if the current user’s temporary directory (i.e. 'UsersUSERNAMEAppDataLocal') is either full, inaccessible or hampered in any way.
To empty a system's TEMP location, try using Windows' Disk Cleanup tool. The tool operates differently for each version of Windows so an internet search on how to access and operate it would be advised. When using Disk Cleanup, the "Temporary files" checkbox should be enabled to delete files from the system's TEMP location.
If the system's TEMP location is inaccessible, the user may need to take ownership of the directory to gain full access. To do that:
1) On the keyboard, press the Windows key + R keys together
2) In the Run window, type "%temp%" and then click OK
3) When the default Temp folder opens, go up one folder location (press Alt + Up Arrow)
4) Right-click the TEMP folder and select Properties from the pop-up menu
5) In the Properties window, click the ‘Security’ tab
6) You will see a list of user names in this window, select username currently being used and click on the "Edit" button
7) In the new window, click on the same username to check the permissions for that account. Make sure that the check box against ‘Full control’ is set as ‘Allow’
8) If the check boxes are greyed out, then click on ‘cancel’ to close the Window
9) In the Security tab, click on the ‘Advanced’ tab at the bottom.
10) In the Advanced Security Settings window, check the username against 'username’ in the top left
11) If the currently being used username is not displayed as the Owner, click on ‘Change’ option next to the ‘Owner’ field
12) Type the currently being used username in the box provided and click ‘Check names’ and then click ‘OK’ to save changes.
13) 'OK' and close any remaining open windows
14) Reboot the system and then try running Revoice Pro 3 again

VocALign and Revoice Pro use VST 3 plug-ins.
VST 3 plug-ins are not suported by Pyramix.
- Stop all audio applications running.
- Go to the folder "/Library/Application Support/Propellerhead Software/Rewire".
- Delete or rename the file Rewire.bundle.
- Start Revoice Pro and press the Rewire button.
The correct version of the file should then be installed.
Note Rewire suport has been removed from Revocie Pro 3.0 and later and replaced with Audio Monitoring Plug-ins.
A guide to using Revoice Pro 3 and SONAR X3 using VST 3 plug-ins
1) Open SONAR X3 and Revoice Pro 3
In this example track one in SONAR contains the guide audio and track 2 the dub.
2) Add the Revoice Pro Link as an effect on SONAR track one
3) In the link window set the Revoice Track to Audio 1
4) Add the Revoice Pro Link as an effect on SONAR track two
5) In the link window set the Revoice Track to Audio 2
6) Arm capture in the plug-ins by pressing Capture. (If you have the shift key pressed when you select Capture all the Revoice Pro Link plug-in will go into capture mode.)
In SONAR position the playhead to the start of the audio you want to capture and start playing.
You will see a count in seconds in the Revoice Pro Link windows as audio is captured.
Stop capture in SONAR when your audio has been played.
7) The audio will now be in Revoice Pro
8) Use the steps documented in theRevoice Pro Manual to create the process you require.
9) If you try to play audio within Revoice Pro you may see the following message.
This occurs if SONAR has taken exclusive control of the audio output device.
You can play the Revoice Pro audio out via track in SONAR.
10) Create a new track in SONAR and add the Revoice Pro Monitor as a plug-in.
11) In Revoice Pro enable the monitor output
Now Revoice Pro 3 will play via SONAR.
If you start playback in SONAR, Revoice Pro will play in synch with the SONAR session.
12) You can return audio from Revoice Pro to SONAR by dragging and dropping the audio from Revoice Pro - please see Revoice Pro Manual
