How Jacob Bunton Used Revoice Pro to Recreate an Iconic Song in Gotti

Imagine this: you've just wrapped up shooting a crucial scene for a movie, only to discover that the song you wanted to use can't be cleared.

This was the challenge faced by the makers of Gotti, and to solve it, they turned to composer Jacob Bunton. Bunton then relied on Revoice Pro to create the perfect replacement.

Bunton explains:

"In Gotti, during the last-minute music work, they couldn’t get clearance for a song called 'Little Pal.' It’s an old Jimmy Roselli track, and they had already filmed the scene, which featured John Gotti Jr.'s wedding."

To make the scene authentic, it was crucial to include the original song, as it was played live by Roselli at the wedding. The challenge was that while the production team secured clearance for the song’s publishing rights, they couldn’t clear the recording itself.

“The production couldn’t get the clearance because they didn’t know who owned the master,” Bunton says. “They got the publishing rights but not the recording.”

This led to an urgent request for Bunton to re-record the song with precision.

"They asked me to re-record the track, but it had to be an exact match—everything had to be spot-on. The vocals, the instrumentation, and especially the timing, as the scene had already been shot."

So, how did Bunton ensure the new version matched the original perfectly? He turned to Revoice Pro.

"In my experience, Revoice Pro worked like a charm,”
